I’m just now getting to the point where I don’t want to watch “Frozen” all the time…and then Disney unveils “Maleficent” and I am again BLOWN AWAY. Here are the top 5 things I just loved about this movie–without giving anything away for those of you who haven’t seen it yet.

1. A new twist on an old story. I simply LOVE it when the vilian gets their say. One of the things I love about “Wicked” is this point of view. When the villian becomes the hero…I’m in.

2. The score. This movie isn’t a musical by any means (which makes me sad because I think that would have REALLY put it over the top), BUT the music is excellent–breathtaking, lovely and haunting all at the same time. Putting “I Know You” in a minor key gives me the freaking WILLIES.

3.Angelina Jolie–despite my initial fears–really nailed this role to the wall. So well done.

4. Elle Fanning is amazing as Aurora. She’s really come into her own. She manages to bring an authenticity to the role without too much sugar.
5. The surprise ending kept me guessing until the last moment. So well done!

They need to do Ursela next!
