I’ll walk you to the gate, I said
And took his hand in mine
You’ll have to go on without me
I can’t come along this time
I’ll go as far as I can go
And kiss you on the cheek
It’s so much nicer in that place
The peace is what you seek
He turned and smiled before he went
I knew he was okay
I whispered that I’d be there soon
as he quietly shut the gate
What a beautiful poem. I’ll have to send you one I wrote. It isn’t near as great as your though. Love you much.

Reminds me of loved ones crossing over, but open to other interpretations.
